Meet the Board
James Beale
National Business
Development Director

James M. Beale is National Business Development
Director for Rockefeller Global Family O昀케ce (RGFO)
and a member of the 昀椀rm’s Management Committee.
As National Business Development Director, James is
responsible for driving Inorganic and Organic Growth
strategies across RGFO. James is responsible for
Practice Management, Relationship Management and
RGFO’s Sports & Entertainment business.
James joined Rockefeller in April 2020, leading and
shaping the 昀椀rm’s Capital Markets and Managed
Solutions Businesses.
Prior to joining Rockefeller, James spent 16 years with
Merrill Lynch where he held leadership positions
in Capital Markets Sales and Origination. James
concluded his time at Merrill Lynch as a Managing
Director and Head of Capital Markets Sales. Before
joining Merrill Lynch in 2004, James started his career
in 昀椀nance at Scudder Investments serving in both
Origination and Distribution roles after concluding a
professional hockey career in Europe and the U.S.
James is an active advocate for victims of pediatric
cancer and serves as a Trustee and Advisory Director
on the board of The Arms Wide Open Childhood
Cancer Foundation. James is also a member of
the Board of Trustees for Xaverian High School in
Brooklyn, NY, serving on the board’s investment
committee. A graduate of Wagner College, James holds
his Series 7,24, 63 and 65 licenses.

Saumen is the Chief Investment O昀케cer of OneDigital’s
retirement & wealth division as well as its registered
investment adviser, OneDigital Investment Advisors. He is
responsible for the overall investment platform, including
selection of investment o昀昀ering, due diligence of funds
and managers, and overseeing investment strategies and
models managed by the investment team.
Saumen has over 26 years of experience in asset
management industry holding C-suite leadership positions
with institutions, investment 昀椀rms and wealth management
platforms. He came from Carson Group he was the Chief
Investment O昀케cer (CIO) leading their $18 billion investment
platform. Prior to Carson, Saumen was the CIO of Convex
Capital management and Head of Investment Management
at Jackson National Asset Management, Director of
Quantitative Management at Harbor Capital Advisors, and
the Lead Portfolio Manager of Harbor Target Date Funds.
Saumen is a veteran in asset allocation, portfolio and risk
management. Among his many accomplishments, Saumen
introduced robust investment o昀昀ering and alternative
investments to Carson partners, and at Convex Capital, he
developed unique wealth management solution.
